WELL ESTABLISHED ORGANIZATION
The Arizona Sunset Golf Association (ASGA) is an independent non-real estate golf association that was formed in the mid 1980's. ASGA is sanctioned by the Arizona Golf Association (AGA) and Arizona Women's Golf Association (AWGA). ASGA is managed by eight board members that are elected each year by the members. There are currently about 130 members.
MEN & WOMEN OF ALL SKILL LEVELS
The association is made up of male and female golfers which are divided into four flights according to their established handicaps. Each month, a member has the opportunity to meet and play with different members of various backgrounds. A member can elect to be paired with one person at every event.
Tournaments average about 72 players and are held on a monthly basis at various championship courses throughout Metro Phoenix metro area. Occasionally, a tournament will be held outside the Phoenix metro area but within the state. Past courses include Troon North Golf Club in North Scottsdale and The Club at Seven Canyons in Sedona.
INDIVIDUAL STROKE PLAY WITH HANDICAP
All tournaments are individual stroke play according to USGA rules with the exception of an occasional team event usually held in December.
LOW MEMBERSHIP DUES
Membership dues are currently $50 online or $60 paid directly to the association. These dues include a membership to AGA or AWGA. Handicaps are maintained by ASGA and AWGA and allow members to participate in ASGA tournaments and other tournaments sanctioned by AGA.
APPROVED USGA HANDICAP
To maintain their handicap, members will be able to upload scores at a course computer or online through AGA or AWGA.
MONTHLY WEEKEND TOURNAMENTS
Tournaments are held once a month usually on Saturday morning with an occasional tournament held on Sunday morning. The club championship is usually in August and is always two rounds - one Saturday and the other on Sunday on the same weekend.
TOURNAMENT FEES ARE A BARGAIN
Tournament fees are set each year to be the same for every tournament. All tournaments are optional and are paid on a monthly basis. Fees include greens fees, cart, range balls, and entry into the prize fund. Gift cards are awarded for closest to the pins on par 3s, a low gross winner, a low net winner and placements in each flight for first through fifth place. In addition, the tournament fee will include lunch at selected courses. The 2011 tournament fee is $65.00
MORE PRIZES FOR PARTICIPATION THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
Members can also participate in the ASGA Cup. Members accumulate points during the year at each tournament by the finishing placement. The top team players from each flight are awarded valuable prizes.

Our prizes are distributed in Van's Gift Cards and can be accumulated to purchase items of your choice at all Van's Golf store.
OPTIONAL SKINS, DEUCE & HOLE-IN-ONE POTS
All members and guest have the opportunity to win cash in the optional gross and net skins, deuce, and hole-in-one pot.
MEMBERS CAN INVITE GUESTS
Members are encouraged to invite a guest to the monthly tournaments. A guest may participate in tournaments with or without an established handicap but will not be eligible for low gross, low net, flight placement winners nor ASGA Cup points. However, they will be eligible for closest to the pins prizes and may participate in the optional skin, deuce and hole-in-one pot. Guest fees for 2011 are $75.00.
